Howard Elson ...is an independent publicist providing Press, publicity, promotion and marketing to the entertainment and theatre industry. He is also an accomplished writer having had17 books published and currently contributes to several websites and magazines.
... he has represented a number of major international entertainers including Roger Whittaker, Michael Flatley and his outstanding show Lord Of the Dance and Engelbert Humperdinck on a global basis. Domestically he represented Jimmy Osmond and Shakin’ Stevens.
...he also handled the UK publicity, marketing and promotion for the high-rating children’s TV show Bear In The Big Blue House on its successful UK theatre tours as well as PR and marketing for UK tours with the Australian children’s TV favourites Hi-5 , Dora the Explorer and Scooby-Doo (2007). For several years he looked after the celebrated Harlem Globetrotters in the UK.
International companies with whom he has worked include Semmel Concerts, the Disney Corporation, the Vee Corporation, Nickleodeon, Kids Like Us, Boomerang, the Cartoon Network, ThemeStar and Clearchannel.
Howard continues to handle the worldwide promotion, Press and PR for Roger Whittaker embracing all aspects of his touring commitments, records, TV and personal appearances. As such he has gained an extensive working knowledge of many international markets particularly Germany, Scandinavia, Australia, Canada and the USA with particular emphasis on television and concert appearances. For several years he also managed Dermot Cavanagh, Britain’s leading television artist and star of the BBC series Awash With Colour. During the course of their association he devised and created touring workshops and exhibitions across the UK, directing and hosting these live events. He managed country singer Don Fardon and wrote and devised his successful theatre touring show, Line Dance Fever. He had a long association in the UK with the legendary Jack Daniel's and organized several special projects for the American company including TV and radio promotional tours and road shows. He was responsible for launching three new children’s magazines for Marvel Comics in Britain, each breaking sales records during the first few weeks of publication. He also worked with the legendary Stan Lee.
Other projects have included product launches with security specialists ADT, Shulton - the Cosmetics Company - and Celcon Building Products. For Celcon he helped organize a massive UK tour promoting the latest development in insulation blocks. He co-devised and presented a sporting event, the One Hand Lift, which was staged in a dozen major regional cities, attracting large audiences to each event. Local television covered every one of the 12 regional competitions and featured them on their nightly magazine programmes (both BBC and ITV). The final, held in London, was filmed and broadcast by ITV Sport. At the end of the tour Celcon's output for the new product increased considerably.
For many years he worked with the rock legends Roy Orbison and Gene Pitney.
Howard Elson has been responsible for providing press and promotion on a number of major UK tours recently including international singing star Lorna Luft, Jack Jones, David Cassidy, Shakin’ Stevens, Bruce Welch, Howard Marks, the all-laughter comedy show Make ’Em Laugh and An Evening With Henry Blofeld.
He is also a renowned researcher contributing to several television shows, movies, documentaries and books.
Currently, Howard is delighted to be managing top television antiques expert and flamboyant dealer - the outstanding Ian Towning from ITV's Dickinson's Real Deal.He also represents the author, teacher, metaphysician and metaphysiotherapist Margaret Rogers Van Coops and is working with singer/songwriter Peter Shelley. Howard has is pleased to be associated with acclaimed British movie star Sylvia Syms and a unique show - British Movie Icons and legendary American singing star Buddy Greco.He has recently teamed up again with Dave Lee and the Regarded.Howard Elson is a member of the board of Management for the Elgiva Theatre in Chesham, Bucks
